    Patrick, thanks again for having me as your first guest on the Community Signal podcast. One thing I need to add – the Online Community Unconference (2007) wasn’t the first online community conference.

    VirCon had been going on for year, and Jim Cashel and Joe Cothrel had been producing the Online Community Summit for several years in Sonoma (which is how I wound up working for Jim and living in Sonoma). Aaron Strout also produced the Community 2.0 conference in 2007.

    There has been lots of conference activity around communities over the years. I’ve produced and hosted my share, but I can’t claim to be the first here.
